'Break-up King' Debut Party SuccessPosted by angelchgo on Wednesday, 24 September 2014
About 50 people came out to see the debut of the latest GAM-TV websiode, "Break-up King: It's Not You, It's Me" at the @mosphere Bar in Chicago. After an update from director Angel Abcede on the background of the webisode (an entry into Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's "Project Greenlight" reality show--which did not advance, unfortunately) and on the activities of Asians & Friends Chicago (and its hosting of the national Asians & Friends conference in 2016), the debut went on without a hitch. Afterwards, Angel gave actor John Breen a "Miss Piggy" award for being a standout actor.

GAM-TV's Angel Abcede has written and directed another webisode with a debut party set for Sat., Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at @mosphere, 5355 N. Clark in Chicago. The story is of an average gay, Asian male looking to make the biggest transition of all--one involving not one, not two but three major breakups. While sounding like a heavy topic, the lead character's upbeat persona and quirky partners make for an awkwardly hilarious series of unhappy endings.

How celebrity is born is a mysterious and capricious process. It garnered much attention that even grew to a national level. But with the spotlight of celebrity also comes the flicker as the light dims. This documentary webisode captures the rise and fall of an unexpected celebrity: The Popcorn Dress. (Click on GAM-TV's webisode tab to download the documentary.)
